March Madness is off to a stunning start

We're only in the first day of March Madness and already there have been some big surprises and upsets. Murray State knocked off Vanderbilt at the buzzer. Villanova went to OT with Robert Morris before finally pulling off the win. Notre Dame fell to Old Dominion. St. Mary's took down Richmond.

Notre Dame's loss may have been the least surprising occurrence. Though the Irish had been playing better with Luke Harangody back, many people (I among them) thought a six seed was incredibly generous and picked Notre Dame to lose in the first round.

Villanova struggled down the stretch of the regular season and it was a bit shocking to see the Wildcats get a two seed. After barely beating Robert Morris, the doubters have one more piece of evidence in the argument that 'Nova isn't as good as their seeding would imply.

There could be more upsets to come. At this moment, Georgetown is trailing Ohio by 19 points in the second half.

Has your bracket been busted yet?
