A look at how my MLB preseason predictions held up

Before this year's MLB season started I made my predictions regarding which teams would win each division and wild card. I also took a shot at the playoff winners, but I'll have another set of playoff predictions up later based on the actual matchups. So let's take a look at how my prognostications fared.

AL East - Yankees
AL Central - Twins
AL West - Angels
AL Wild Card - Red Sox

NL East - Phillies
NL Central - Cubs
NL West - Diamondbacks
NL Wild Card - Mets

Wow, I was right on the money with my American League predictions thanks to a one-game playoff win by the Twins over the Tigers last night.

As for the National League, that was a whole different ballgame. I reluctantly drank the Mets kool aid and that came back to bite me. The Cubs were a huge disappointment and the Diamondbacks finished in last in the NL West, instead of my predicted first.

Oh well, I'll take the small victory of sweeping in the AL.
