Report: Brett Favre tells Vikings he is staying retired

Chip Scoggins of the Minnesota Star Tribune is reporting that Brett Favre has told Vikings head coach Brad Childress that he will remain retired.

According to the report, Favre doesn't want to deal with the daily mental and physical grind that would result in a return to the NFL.

Childress spoke about the chase of Brett Favre:
"I just think it was a rare opportunity to explore a Hall of Fame quarterback who had background in the NFC and in this division," Childress said. "He knows our system inside out … This doesn’t change anything about how I feel about our football team."
Finally, our long national nightmare is over.
