The Marlins have pulled off the trade for Nick Johnson just before the buzzer went off on the 4pm trading deadline. The Nationals will pay the remaining $1.8 million on Johnson's salary and receive Double A lefty Aaron Thompson in return, according to FOX Sports.com.The deal looked imminent this morning and then cooled off in the afternoon, with executives saying at 3:30 that Johnson wasn't going anywhere. The deal got done, though, and Johnson will provide some offense and play a Gold Glove first base for the remainder of the year for Florida. He is a free agent at the end of the season.
