14-year veteran wide receiver Joey Galloway visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, their first free agent visit this offseason. Galloway could potentially replace Nate Washington as the Stillers' third receiver after Washington left for Tennessee. (How did that one get past my radar?)
Limas Sweed is currently in place to be the #3 man in Pittsburgh behind Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward. Sweed, though, has shown few signs of development since being drafted out of Texas and Galloway would be a much better option as the young receiver continues his progression.
The Steelers are probably also a little concerned about Ward, who had his share of injuries last year and is getting older... even though he's still four years younger than Galloway, who has stayed relatively healthy during the latter stages of his career.
