Gentry could soon replace Porter as Suns head coach

According to Ken Berger, Alvin Gentry is the most likely candidate to replace Terry Porter as head coach of the Phoenix Suns if Porter is fired. There is a good chance that could happen very soon, according to Berger's source.

Talk about a complete disaster of an effort by Steve Kerr and the rest of the Phoenix higher-ups. Last season they traded for Shaq, completely re-shaping their style of play in the process. This year Boris Diaw and Raja Bell were shipped to Charlotte for Jason Richardson, further spoiling the run-and-gun style that had made Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire so effective.

It looks like Stoudamire is the next player to go and Shaq could be on the block as well. The coaching change would be one more step towards a completely new team and would have to go down as one of the biggest in-season shakeups of a team in history.
