Texas beats Ohio St, wins Fiesta in snoozer-turned-thriller

The Buckeyes led 6-3 after a dull first half but it was a whole different ballgame in the second. Both offenses decided to wake up and Ohio State seemed headed toward victory after a touchdown run by Daniel Herron with 2:15 to go and later forcing Texas into a 4th and 3 with under a minute left.

But the drive continued after a challenged spot was capped by a 26-yard touchdown pass from Colt McCoy to Quan Cosby with :16 showing on the clock, sealing the Fiesta Bowl victory for the Longhorns.

It is the second high profile bowl defeat for the Big Ten, following Penn State's loss to USC in the Rose Bowl. As for the Big XII, an Oklahoma victory over Florida in the National Title Game would be a sweet ending to a memorable week for the conference.

As a side note: Was it just me, or was Matt Vasgersian downright bad in the booth in this game? At times it seemed like he wasn't even watching the action. I'm sure BP over at Awful Announcing is already on the case.
