One team's trash is another team's treasure: Browns hire Mangini

A week after being fired by the New York Jets, Eric Mangini is set to be introduced Thursday as the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

After a disappointing 2008 season that fell short of their high hopes, it seems like Browns fans probably won't be too happy with this hiring. The "Man-genius" made a lot of head scratching calls this year for the Jets and it was rumored that his shtick was getting old with the players. Let's not forget he was captain of the Jets' sinking ship that went from 8-3 to 9-7.

But you have to wonder how much of Mangini's plight was directly related to Brett Favre. Aside from Favre's horrid play, it's not crazy to think Favre's style of play forced Mangini to change his style of coaching.
