You heard all about the Vince Young situation earlier in the week. A lot of people, including myself, thought it was a simple misunderstanding and it was overblown by the media. VY and Coach Jeff Fisher jumped on that bandwagon, saying it was all a non-issue. But last night, several reports indicated that Young had talked about "suicide" with his therapist, clearing up the picture as to why there was all the commotion and police involvement.
Obviously this is nothing to take lightly. But doesn't this all violate patient-therapist confidentiality? I know when the police get involved, therapists and the like have to give up information, but to then have it released to the public seems a little unfair to the QB.
Maybe I'm wrong. I've never been to a therapist and I'm not one, so maybe you can just throw that info around. If there are any therapists reading, let me know.
