I know I give the New York Post a lot of flack about its headline writing, but today's cover is a little overboard. On the right is the story of Bill Gwatney, the Democratic party chairman who was shot and killed yesterday. The Post decided to juxtapose that story with the graphic on the left, poking fun at the Yankees' dismal past few weeks, declaring them dead.
Yes, the Yankees playoff hopes probably are buried, but maybe they could have waited to use this witty gem of an image for a time when there wasn't a real assassination?
Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but this seems a little over the top.
