RIP Bernie Mac

Sad news in the world of entertainment, as Bernie Mac has passed away at the age of 50 from complications due to pneumonia. Mac starred in "The Bernie Mac Show," the Ocean's 11 franchise, Pride, Guess Who, and the Original Kings of Comedy.

Sports fans will also remember him as Stan Ross in Mr. 3000 and also from his role in Above the Rim.

Most recently, Mac caught criticism from Barack Obama and others after his crude 10-minute standup routine at a July fundraiser for the Democratic presidential candidate. He has, though, received critical acclaim throughout his career and was twice nominated for Golden Globe awards for his role on his self-titled sitcom. He had finished two films recently, including Old Dogs with Robin Williams and John Travolta, and Soul Men alongside Samuel L. Jackson.
