Balkman traded to Nugs, might sell "Balkman Cruiser"

The Knicks traded Renaldo Balkman to the Denver Nuggets today for Taurean Green and Bobby Jones, who will both likely be waived by New York, as well as a second-round draft pick in 2010.

I like the move for the Knicks, mostly because it gets them back to 15 on the active roster if they drop Green and Jones. I think, though, that Green could fit in the D'Antoni system, being a pass-first point guard. There really isn't room for him, though, and his contract is easy to part with because it doesn't affect the cap.

Balkman was a beloved Knick, mostly because of his high-energy style, but wasn't as good as most NY fans would make it seem. He can't really score and that is something Mike D'Antoni covets.

The biggest question now, though, is 'What will Renaldo do with the Balkman Cruiser?'
