The hefty, Aruban right-hander pitched well for Texas this season (4-1 with a 3.88 ERA) but was released after disrespecting teammates and club personnel. The Yankees, minus Chien-Ming Wang, need all the help they can get.
Whether Ponson behaves or not, he's still a better option than Kei Igawa.
