Metropolitans 2, Yankees 0

The Mets royally boot-stomped the Yankees this weekend in the rain-shortened Subway Series. I'll be the first to admit that the Yankees looked slow and sluggish against the Mets, like they do against all teams offensively. The Yankees have been without Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada for a while now, but there are plenty of other good hitters in this lineup that just aren't stepping up. It's early in the season and if you're hanging you're hat on beating a team in an interleague series in May, you might want to re-analyze your franchise's goals. But the series is meaningful in New York to the fans. And the coaches must be into it, no matter what they say, because why else would Willie Randolph have pushed back Johan Santana's start so he could face the Yankees?
